Andrea Stappert

Andrea Stappert is a German photographer and curator whose work focuses on portraits of artists and the atmospheres of their studios and everyday lives. Born in Duisburg, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg and has lived and worked in Berlin since 1998. Through long-term collaborations and close friendships, she has built an extensive photographic archive that documents several generations of artists and the contexts in which they live and work. Her photographs have been exhibited internationally in museums and galleries, and she has worked with institutions such as Museum Ludwig in Cologne, the Goethe-Institut and various contemporary art spaces. Most recently she collaborated with Galería Ehrhardt Flórez in Madrid on the project “Luis Claramunt / Sevilla 1988” (11.09.2025–11.11.2025), presenting previously unseen photographs from the painter’s Seville studio.
