On Friday, April 3, at 20:00, A49 Art Space in Kalamata hosts the opening of the first solo exhibition of visual artist Georgia M. Papoutsi, titled “Colour in Transition — From Photography to Painting.”
The exhibition presents an evolutionary trajectory from the initial photographic capture toward the painted surface, where memory, matter, and gesture compose a single visual field.
The images are born slowly, organically, through successive layers of colour and light, inviting the viewer to follow the act of creation itself, not only its final outcome. The transformation of the photographic instant into a painted composition registers a change of tempo — from the immediate to the slow, from optical record to chromatic memory.
