A photography exhibition by Manolis Yiannios at A49 Art Space, titled “Fly on the Wall.”
“Photography is an old friend who kept me company through difficult years. She reminded me to dream again, to hold onto hope through memories and colour. She is the driving force that pulls me out of my home and sets me free creatively.”
Encouraged by friends, the artist feels the time has come to introduce this trusted companion through two bodies of work: Portraits and Reflections. Different angles, different framings, and the emotions born when facing his subjects with a camera in hand.
“In their gaze I find myself grounded in reality through the connection that forms with the people I photograph. In the reflections I want to bring images out of myself, to give shape to my thoughts, my feelings, the compositions running through my mind. I take in love so I can give love back. Perhaps that is the power of photography — much like the power of being human.”
