A49 Art Space and the Pinakothiki of the Public Library of Kalamata present a group exhibition featuring works from the Pinakothiki’s collection.
“Exhibition of Modern Greek Art” brings together works by 33 major Greek artists of the 19th and 20th centuries — from Nikolaos Gyzis, Yannoulis Chalepas, and Georgios Roilos to Yannis Tsarouchis, Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika, Dimitris Mytaras, Kostas Tsoklis, and Alekos Fassianos. The exhibition traces the dialogue between modern Greek art and international avant-garde movements while preserving its roots in soil, memory, and landscape.
The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Kalamata and the Holy Metropolis of Messinia.
