Three contemporary visual artists — Charalambos Dermatis, Leonidas Karabinis, and Yiannis Skaltsas — all of whom teach at the University of West Attica and the Athens School of Fine Arts, present at A49 Art Space a shared research-driven approach exploring the relationship between contemporary art and ever-evolving technology, along with the production of visual works that combine modern and traditional materials.
New digital technologies and their materials are employed by the three artists through continuous experimentation and reiteration. The use of digital technology — through capture, processing, and printing — both characterizes and differentiates their work, while industrial materials meet traditional artistic practices.
